SPC (stone-plastic composite) uses a dense mineral core that is thin, stable and dent resistant. It is ideal over hard or uneven subfloors and under heavy furniture.

Waterproof & install

WPC (wood-plastic composite) has a slightly thicker, warmer, softer core while staying fully waterproof. Both click together easily, so the pick comes down to durability versus comfort.

Wear layer

The wear layer, measured in mils, is the other key spec. A 12-mil layer suits typical homes, while 20-mil and up handles very busy or light-commercial traffic.
