LV Lifestyle Benefits
Core layer
The toughest luxury vinyl plank flooring, or LVP, brands are waterproof. These waterproof brands usually have a wood-plastic composite core or a stone plastic composite core. The main component in WPC cores is wood byproducts while SPC cores contain limestone. Waterproof LVP tolerates standing water for long periods. Planks won’t warp, buckle, or peel, and the floor’s lifespan won’t be affected. Waterproof flooring is ideal for pet owners and active households.
Wear layer
Since the transparent wear layer protects the design layer from scratches, stains, and other damage, thicker is better. It’s wise to choose the best quality wear layer available because once it is worn down and the design layer is damaged, the flooring must be replaced. Plank thickness is measured in mm while the amount of wear on a plank is measured in mil. Look for a plank that is 8 mm or thicker and a wear layer that is 20 mil or higher.
